Intelligent sensor technology for improved efficiency: the MICROSENS Smart Sensor in hospitals

Hamm, 18.02.2025 - Modern technologies play a decisive role in optimizing hospital processes and patient care. The MICROSENS Smart Sensor makes hospital infrastructure smarter and more sustainable. The system controls room climate, lighting and energy consumption precisely and efficiently - without the need for complex additional cabling.

The smart sensor is implemented seamlessly into the existing network without the need for additional cabling. This enables simple integration into ongoing operations without interruptions or structural measures.

Vital data, such as blood sugar levels, can be recorded wirelessly and analyzed using artificial intelligence (AI) so that medical staff are informed immediately in the event of critical changes.
The focus is also on energy efficiency: the MICROSENS Smart Sensor measures temperature, humidity, CO₂ values and air quality in order to intelligently control ventilation, heating and lighting. This helps hospitals to meet the requirements of the Energy Saving Ordinance (EnEV), the Climate Protection Act and the Energy Industry Act (EnWG).

Another highlight is the Bluetooth Beacon technology, which enables precise localization of medical devices and patient beds. This makes processes more efficient and reduces the workload of hospital staff.

The MICROSENS Smart Sensor is a pioneering step for the digital future of healthcare. Smart sensors, powerful data processing and connected technology optimize patient care while reducing operating costs and achieving sustainability goals.

About MICROSENS

Transmitting information via fiber optic connections offers numerous benefits. MICROSENS GmbH & Co. KG recognised this very early on. As one of the pioneers, the company has developed and produced high-performance communications and transmission systems in Germany since 1993. Individually matched to the demands of diverse usage areas and embedded in comprehensive concepts for individual sectors. But, above all, close to the customer. Technical challenges from customer projects are incorporated directly into product development. This way, IP-based automation solutions are created for modern buildings, cost-efficient network concepts for the office and workspace, robust and fail-safe solutions for industrial environments, optical transport systems future-oriented wide area networks and efficient coupling of sites and computer centres.
