MSP1000 Transponder Modules

The range of transponder cards in the MSP1000 portfolio has always been adapted to the requirements of the application and the transmission protocols used.

As a result, cost-efficient transmissions from Ethernet to 40G and FibreChannel to 16G FC are currently achieved. With the MSP1000, these services are transmitted via the CXG+ double transponder card (4x SFP+ slots up to 16GFC). The focus here is on the compact design and layout as a double converter as well as on the price/performance ratio.

The conversion always takes place 1:1, the local connections via standard multimode or single mode are converted 1:1 to CWDM or DWDM channels (standardized according to ITU) and transmitted. The 40G service is transmitted via 4x 10G via two double transponders on 4 frequencies (channels).

The use of tunable SFP+ modules (typically for 8G FC, 10G FC or 10G Ethernet) is also easily possible via the CXG+ transponder card.

For smaller bandwidths, it is also possible to use the X2G card with crossbar function in addition to the CXG+ card. This card offers efficient transmission of two parallel services via one card (4x SFP slot up to 2.7GBit/s).

The CXG transponder module converts local 8.5G or 10G multimode applications to a single mode or CWDM/DWDM wavelength. Alternatively, the CXG can also be used as a universal wavelength converter.
