MSP3000 Chassis and Accessories

The MSP3000 platform from MICROSENS is the technological highlight of the xWDM transmission platforms. This platform is NEBS Level 3 certified and ETSI compliant. This transport system offers solutions for Metro, Regional and Long Haul applications and supports all major protocols such as Ethernet, Fiber Channel, SDH, OTN and Video and data rates up to 8 Tbps in one chassis.

The individual transponder cards support data rates from 100Mbps up to 200Gbps today and shortly we will release transponder cards with a capacity of 400Gbps. A particular strength of the MSP3000 platform is its support for the Single Fiber Option, which enables up to 320 bi-directional 10G channels or 32 bi-directional 100G channels. The MSP 3000 platform consists of a modular 7U chassis for high density applications and a modular compact 2U chassis for low density applications and a 1U chassis for 100G applications. The MSP3000 platform also includes optical multiplexers (Mux/Demux), reconfigurable optical add/drop multiplexers (ROADM) and optical amplifiers (EDFA, Raman). The Mux/Demux filter modules are designed to allow expansion without service interruption.

The 19" chassis are always designed with redundant power supply to meet the reliability requirements of xWDM transmission systems. Each chassis has a "dust filter" and several fan units monitored for rotation by the management card to dissipate the heated air to the outside. In addition to the 2U chassis with various power supply options (230VDC, 48VDC), a 7U chassis with the following capacities is also available:

- 6 slots Capacity on 2U chassis
- 20 slots capacity on 7U chassis

The respective slots serve to accommodate the corresponding service cards, whereby each service card can be inserted in each slot. Without reducing the slot capacities, each chassis has a network card that is responsible for monitoring and configuring the individual service cards and the fan unit. The following tasks are performed by the management card:

- Controlling the SNMP Agent
- Access control via the WEB interface
- Console control and access via command interface (CLI)
- Provision of an internal Ethernet switch with three (3) external Ethernet interfaces
- Access to slots and fan unit
- Connection between SNMP agent and slots for management of service modules and fan unit
