The explosive increase in the provision of virtualized services in cloud networks and above all in data centers is generating a massive increase in capacity requirements. While the transition from 1G to 10G within the WDM world still took a decade, the transition from 10G to 100G took only a few years. Meanwhile, 200G transponder cards are available and higher capacities are already imminent.
MICROSENS is currently providing transponder and muxponder cards for 100G and 200G transmission channels for the MSP3000 in the "high data rate" area; modules for 400G and 600G will significantly increase this transmission capacity in the future. These high bit-rate modules are equipped with a very powerful and tunable (flexible setting of the DWDM transmission channel by management) optics and transmit exclusively on the basis of coherent technology. This ensures that further developments are always state-of-the-art and that higher data rates can be made available very easily and always in line with the market and on time. Furthermore, special emphasis is placed on the implementation of powerful OSNR (Optical Signal Noise Ratio) values in the transmission optics, which are the essential criteria for bridging long distances via amplifiers.
In addition to the service modules for integration into the MSP3000 chassis (2U, 7U), another independent system for the transmission of 100G data rates, the MXP100, is available. MXP100 is available as a 100G transponder system as well as a 100G Muxponder system. The Muxponder variant aggregates several 10G variants (8G FC, 10G FC, 10GE, STM64) into one 100G wavelength, which is then transmitted. In addition to the 10G Muxponder variant, there is also a 40G Muxponder variant in which either 1x40G / 6x10G or 2x40G / 2x10G is aggregated into a 100G signal and then transmitted.
The pluggable 100G service modules (for operation in MSP3000 chassis) essentially correspond in functionality to the MXP100 (1U standalone system) with a small difference that the pluggable modules can still be equipped with encryption (AES256) in the form of the encryption service module. The most important representative of this division is the 100G aggregation card, which aggregates multi-protocol 10x10G interfaces (8G FC, 10G FC, 16G FC, 10GE, STM-64, OTU2) into a 100G wavelength. On the line side we offer a QSFP28 interface with the OTU4 protocol for this service card.
The current high-end system for the "High Data Rate" cards is the flexrate module, which can be operated in 100G or 200G mode by simply changing the modulation method (DP-QSPK for 100G / DP-16QAM for 200G) on the line side. It is a Muxponder card that aggregates and transmits 2x100G wavelengths into a 200G wavelength. This card works perfectly in combination with the 100G aggregation card as it combines and transmits the total of 2 aggregated 100G wavelengths into one 200G wavelength. The Flexratemodul is equipped with a particularly strong and tunable optics, which takes over the function of the Line Optics for the aggregation cards.
