MSP1000 Chassis and Accessories

The chassis for 19" installation are always designed with redundant power supplies to meet the high reliability of xWDM transmission systems. In addition to the standard 4U chassis with various power supply options (230VDC, 48VDC), there is also a compact 1U chassis for decentralized applications such as channel decoupling.

The chassis is supplied with four speed-monitored fans connected to the alarm system.

Unused slots are protected with appropriate blind covers. The low installation depth allows mounting in 19" Frames with limited mechanical conditions.

For monitoring and administration of active insertion modules such as transponder cards, amplifier modules or other application modules, the MSP1000 offers management agents of the latest generation of network subscribers. These meet the latest requirements for management modules in terms of security, network access protection and performance.

The focus here is on the implementation of comprehensive security functions. The new modules support secure management protocols such as SNMPv3, SSH, HTTPS and user authentication via RADIUS or TACACS+. Firmware updates are encrypted and signed to protect against tampering.

The NM3 management module uses a slot in the MSP1000 chassis and offers a 4-port Gigabit Ethernet switch (2x SFP slots with 100/1000Base-X, 2x 10/100/1000Base-T RJ-45).

The NM3+ module uses two slots and has a total of six Gigabit Ethernet ports (2x SFP slots with 100/1000X, 4x 10/100/1000T RJ-45), one USB expansion port and two potential-free digital I/Os (2x relay output, 2x optocoupler input). Both modules have a serial RS-232 console port in the form of an RJ-45 port for standard console cables.

Equipped with two SFP ports, the NM3 and NM3+ modules can be used to cascade several MSP 1000 series chassis via optical channels or to create a fault-tolerant ring structure that was previously only available in industrial applications.

Network loops are detected and prevented by an integrated protection mechanism. Virtual LANs (VLANs) can be formed with up to 256 VLAN IDs.

Thanks to the exchangeable microSD memory card, the system status of the management module (configuration, scripts, firmware, optional MAC address) can be completely transferred to a new management module, e.g. for service purposes. This eliminates incompatibilities due to different versions. The memory card is protected against removal during operation.
