MICROSENS offers a very extensive product family of filter modules, which completely covers the essential market requirements.
Pluggable Modules
This segment consists of the classic CWDM/DWDM multiplexers that are plugged into the respective slots of the chassis (pluggable modules).
Rack Mounted Modules
The classic type of CWDM/DWDM multiplexer is also available in a 19" 1U rack mount version (Rack Mounted Modules). The product range includes a 16 channel DWDM filter with upgrade port, which can be upgraded to a 32 channel filter and a 40 channel filter. This 40-channel filter can also be equipped with an upgrade channel so that an 80-channel filter can be configured via event and odd channels.
Optical Add/Drop Modules
Also called add/drop multiplexers, these ensure that the optical network can be kept flexible by coupling and uncoupling any optical channels. These add/drop modules in cassette form can be plugged into a 19" 1U housing, whereby the 1U housing can accommodate a total of 4 cassettes. These cassette-shaped filters are also suitable for the extended temperature range from -40 to +65°C and are also available in a version for single fiber applications. For the Add/Drop filters, the parameters 1, 2 or 4 channel Add/Drop filters apply, either in one direction (single sided) or in two directions (dual sided).
In addition to the add/drop filters, DWDM and CWDM multiplexers are also available in cassette form. In the DWDM area, these are 8 channel filters that can be upgraded, so that a total of 32 channels can be provided in a 1U housing with 4 cassettes. In the CWDM range, cassettes with 10 wavelengths and 8 wavelengths are available.. These can achieve a total of 18 CWDM wavelengths.
Reconfigurable Optical Add/Drop Multiplexer (ROADM)
A ROADM is a special form of add/drop multiplexer that has the capability of remotely switching the data traffic of a WDM system at the wavelength level. This makes it possible to remotely couple and uncouple individual channels without the need for optical-electronic-optical conversion.
The latest ROADM technology from MICROSENS is based on 19" 1U boxes and is used as a ROADM unit in a ROADM network. There are 2 versions for a total of 4 directions (4 Degree) and 10 directions (10 Degree) available. Each ROADM contains the Wave Selective Switch (WSS), corresponding amplifiers and an optical channel monitor. The functionalities provided by these latest generation ROADM systems are Colorless, Directionless, Contentionless and Gridless (CDCG).
