Description

Bridges (typically called media converters, although there are significant differences here) in desktop design are among the simplest components for converting the Ethernet transmission media copper / fiber optic. The bridging of long transmission distances, the galvanic isolation or the bridging of communication paths susceptible to interference (EMC!) are the main reasons for the use of these components.

 

MICROSENS offers a converter with an optical transmission side of 10Base-FL which is still in demand in the field of automation and power supply.

This FLTP converter sets

- 10BaseT (RJ-45) to 10Base-FL (fixed optics, SC multimode)

The MICROSENS product portfolio in the area of Fast Ethernet media conversion copper / fiber optic is very varied for components in desktop design. Although the standard application, the conversion 10/100Base-TX to 100Base-FX is always given, MICROSENS uses various special designs here:

- Standard Desktopbridge 10/100Base-TX to 100Base-FX (MM / SM, depending on version, always SC duplex)

- Compact bridge 10/100Base-TX to 100Base-FX (optics on request, SC/ST/SC simplex, single mode up to 80km transmission range)

- Compact bridge 10/100Base-TX to 100Base-FX with special robust voltage input (optics on request, SC/ST/SC simplex, single mode up to 80km transmission range)

- Desktopbridge 10/100Base-TX to 100Base-FX with optional voltage input 5V via USB (MM / SM, depending on version, always SC duplex)

The conversion to single fiber (also known as BiDi or simplex) is becoming more and more common, using flexible optics (SFPs) that transmit and receive via just one fiber. This technique is mainly used in the FTTH range to save fibers. Currently, this technology is increasingly being used within existing (single mode) cabling in order to double existing cable capacities.
