The new 10G Micro Switch brings 10 Gigabit Ethernet to the workplace. In addition to high data rates, the two 10 Gigabit uplinks enable flexibility in the redundancy concept for increased fail-safety, for example with cable-optimized fiber optic ring cabling or with dual homing, in which a Micro Switch is connected to different core switches via two separate lines. Four 10/100/1000Base-T PoE+ user ports provide the full data rate to everyone without restrictions, even when connected end devices are operating simultaneously.
"The new 10G Micro Switch combines performance and efficiency at a new level," said Hannes Bauer, Technical Director of MICROSENS GmbH & Co. KG in Hamm, which can boast more than 25 years of experience in the field of micro switches. "It offers users versatile options and planning freedom for the highest performance and fail-safety, which are not possible with conventional solutions in the workplace area."
The access-protected multi gigabit downlink port with 1/2.5/5 Gigabit Ethernet and PoE++ with up to 60 watts according to IEEE 802.3bt is especially designed for devices with high data throughput and electrical power requirements. For example, Wi-Fi 6 access points, as increasingly used in modern building technology, smart building technologies and IoT, can be seamlessly integrated into the network infrastructure.
Installation compatible with the previous generation
MICROSENS has been manufacturing Micro Switches in the internationally established M45 installation dimension since 2003. The new 10G Micro Switch is installation and connection compatible to the previous generation. This means that existing Micro Switches can be exchanged for switches of the new device generation with little effort. "Continuity and reliability are part of our self-image," says Hannes Bauer. "The field-proven Gigabit Micro Switches of Generation 6 will remain in the range. This means users can always choose the solution that best meets their current and future requirements."
