MOPP – MEANS OF PATIENT PROTECTION
MOPP measures the degree of protection of a patient against electric shocks. This protection is achieved by design provisions such as the insulation of electrical and electronic devices. One MOPP stands for single insulation, two MOPPs for double or reinforced insulation with a dielectric strength of 4,000 volts (4 kV). This is specified in the international standard IEC 60601-1, which has been adopted in the European Union as EN 60601-1. Our Medical Micro Switch has a minimum dielectric strength of 4 kV and 2 MOPP according to EN 60601-1 / IEC 60601-1.
