With the new Industrial PLX Switch, the Profi Line range from MICROSENS has been extended in terms of performance and security. The design and hardware is based on the Profi Line G6 series. The PLX Switch also offers the familiar features
- Extended operating temperature range -40..+75°C
- Compact stainless steel housing with integrated DIN rail adapter
- Redundancy for power and data
- Fanless
- Two alarm inputs and outputs each
- Profi Line Generation 6 functionalities
The PLX switch also provides 2x 1/10G Base-X SFP+ ports (according to IEEE 802.3ae) for setting up redundant ring topologies with a bandwidth of up to 10G Ethernet.
The uplink ports can be operated with encryption to ensure secure communication between the devices within the LAN. Security plays an increasingly important role, especially when it comes to communication via fiber as these communication paths are often routed in or through public areas. The standardized MACsec function (media access control security) according to the IEEE 802.1AE standard, which has been well-proven in Layer2, ensures this.
Locally, 7x 10/100/1000Base-T ports are available for connecting LAN components. One of the LAN ports is designed as a PD port in order to operate the component without power supply and only powered via PoE/PoE+, if required.
The switch operating system, firmware and configuration data are stored on an SD card. If a switch needs to be replaced, the existing SD card is simply inserted into the new device, which automatically takes over all settings.
Additionally MICROSENS offers a 10G module for expanding the generation 6 PLM switch.
