The new Profi Line+ switch offers seven Gigabit ports with extremely compact dimensions. Performance and security have the highest priority, both in terms of network and access security as well as the individual switch functions themselves.
This makes the switch ideal for high-availability areas such as industrial automation, traffic information and control systems and power engineering. Applications such as wireless LAN and IP video surveillance benefit from the integrated power supply for the end devices with PoE+ according to IEEE 803.3at. The switch provides up to 30 W per port, on four 10/100/1000T connections.
The switch has two GBE combo ports with 10/100/1000T or 100/1000X SFP slots. This allows a redundant uplink to be set up either via copper cable or fibre optic cables. In the event of a line interruption, the ring protocol ensures uninterrupted availability. Via the RJ-45 uplink port, the switch itself can be supplied as a powered device via Power-over-Ethernet, which ensures increased availability in the event of a power failure.
Sensors and actuators can be integrated via the switch's two I/O ports or the switch can be connected to an existing alarm solution.
Switch operating system, firmware and configuration data are stored on an SD card. Should a switch have to be replaced, the existing SD card is simply inserted into the new device, which automatically takes over all settings.
