The 10-port unmanaged Gigabit MICROSENS Desktop Switch enables the connection of 8 end devices via twisted pair cable in 10/100/1000Base-T. The fiber ports are designed as SFP slots and are dual speed capable (100/1000Base-X).
The desktop switch is characterized by its compact design. The switch is very cost-effective and especially interesting for the central connection of small workgroups.
The twisted pair ports automatically adjust to the respective speed of the connected device (10/100/1000Base-T autonegotiation).
The device can be configured via a DIP switch. A port isolation mode is available to prevent data transfer between different RJ-45 ports. Furthermore, the speed of the device can be configured (Gigabit Ethernet or Fast Ethernet).
The switch has a non-blocking architecture and operates according to the store and forward method. The MAC address management is provided through the integrated address management.
The switch is able to store up to 4K MAC addresses at the same time. The storage is done after receiving a valid data packet. Five to ten minutes after the last data reception a corresponding MAC address is discarded (aging).
Due to the Auto Crossing function of the twisted pair ports of the switch, the distinction of patch cables in crossed and 1:1 is not necessary. The switch automatically detects the pinout and adjusts itself accordingly.
This way it is possible to connect end devices and cascades with one patch cable.
