SFP Transceivers (Small FormFactor Pluggable) have become indispensable components in today's transmission and network technology.
Due to its standardized design (MSA) and as a flexibly exchangeable optical component, the SFP offers great advantages in the dynamic network world.

Despite Gigabittechnology, transceivers up to 155Mbit/s or Fast Ethernet 100Base-FX transceivers are still being used for connecting fiber optic lines to an active component. SFP transceivers with DDM function (Digital Diagnostics Monitoring) can display the optical parameters.

The Fast Ethernet transceivers are especially used within components that have a dual-speed SFP slot (100/1000Base-X) and where a 100Base-FX optic is used on another fiber optic side.

MICROSENS standard Fast Ethernet SFPs are available in these varieties
- 100Base-FX Multimode with DDM, optional with extended operating temperature range -40..+85 °C (1310nm)
- 100Base-FX Single Mode with DDM, optionally with extended operating temperature range -40..+85 °C (1310nm)
- 100Base-FX Single Mode with DDM, optionally with extended operating temperature range -40..+85 °C (1550nm)
- 100Base-FX Single Mode simplex with DDM, optionally with extended operating temperature range -40..+85 °C (A-Type: TX1310nm/RX1550nm, B-Type: TX1550nm/RX1310nm)
